JYMO 2010 - SoW What?! Youth Testimonies
"I am a two-time veteran of JYMO. At the past two JYMO's I have
further explored my relationship with God and met tons of new
people that have changed
my life. Both the students and adults
I've met will be life long friends. Also,
at JYMO I learned and participated in legislation that applies
directly to youth and the
structure of the United Methodist Church. This exposure prepared
me to serve on the General Commission on Communication (UMCOM).
Because of JYMO, I will be attending McMurry University, a
United Methodist University in Abilene, TX in the fall."
-Allye Combs-Morgan, JYT Chair
"Upon
reaching JYMO in 2008, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I've always been
really active in the United Methodist conference youth events in Arkansas,
but a jurisdiction? Seemed liked a whole different ballgame, at least
before I got there. After a few hours at JYMO, my perspective totally
changed. Meeting people from very different walks of life and with
different religious or cultural practices than mine or even from others in
my state was an enlightening and spiritually strengthening experience. I
can't wait to experience it again this summer!"
-Judd Burns, Arkansas Conference
